I'd say it's Choate's job to lose

He should be way ahead in that battle

Does anyone else think

that Abreu still has potential to be a very good pitcher in the majors? I cant remember where I read the article, but they were talking about his MLe numbers and how dominant he would be. Of course he has had his share of chances, albeit very limited, with many different teams, but does the consensus seem to be that he just needs to get comfortable in the majors and that he’s pressing too much? Or is there really a chance that his mid 90’s fastball and dirty slider dont translate to the majors? I have to imagine if a team really gave him a chance to get comfortable and take his lumps, he could be dominant. You dont just put up numbers like that year after year in the minors with plus stuff and be a total bust in the majors. Part of me really wants to see the Rays eventually give him an extended look.

I don't think he will ever be very good in the majors

but he is much better than he was last year. I can see him being the same as Dale Thayer

Im still in the boat that just thinks he is pressing

His numbers are more dominant than Thayer (look at the strike outs) and almost video game like. Plus unlike Thayer, he has a better fastball.
