Those numbers match up pretty well with Escobar's previous velocities which is an encouraging sign. Hopefully this situation can reach a resolution by the middle of next week, but who knows.

looks like
Recta = fastball
cambio = change up
curva = curve ball
and for some reason the other 2 are in English.
please sign him!
Fire and Ice: Rafael Soriano and J.P Howell.......with their side kick Grant the aussie Balfour!
I meant the numbers, dummy.
It was a joke.
Sign lady must die.

Don't call me a dummy

This information is just a starting point.
The key issues include:
1. Are the pitches straight or is there movement and break?
2. Can he throw them where he wants?
3. Can he maintain his stuff and command over a full season of appearances?
4. Can he handle warming up and not entering a game? How often?
5. Can he make appearances in consecutive games?
6. How many pitches can he throw and remain effective in an appearance?
And I imagine those are also just some of the issues about which the Rays have to be confident.
When the initial lists of available pitchers first showed up, I mentioned to someone that Escobar was my first choice if he was healthy enough and reasonably compensated. (I never imagined Soriano would be in the picture for the Rays.) He still is high on my wish list with those conditions.
