I'll say it again:
I miss George Steinbrenner. He’s what made the Yankees competitive.
I can't wait until we trade him for a reliever.
This SUCKS.
Their rotation is sick next year. SICK. The other thing is we know they go after Damon, Bay, or Holliday now.
This is the third time in the calender year the Yanks have done this.
Taken on a good-to-great player for spare parts because a team needs to shed salary. EHHHHHH.
Frank Wren is starting to put himself in Ed Wade's league.
From what I can tell he has yet to do much of anything. He gave Chipper 4 years when he can’t stay healthy, over paid for Lowe, signed G. Anderson and now he moves Javy for nothing.
There HAD to be a better deal out there…there just had to be.

I don't think its as bad as it seems
considering Vazquez’s success of late has come in the NL, and he has not done very well against AL batters in the past.
Check out his White Sox seasons in a similarly offensive-inflated ballpark
He’s good.

I would turn around a cliche often bandied about on baseball sites.
The cliche is that it must suck to be TB, Baltimore or Toronto and have to compete with the behemoths in the AL EAst. I would say it must suck to be NY or Boston and realize that no matter how much we spend, no matter how much talent we acquire, we cannot really create a clear gap between ourselves and TB. And shortly we may be unable to separate from Baltimore either. How frustrating is that?
Yeah. I don't love this at all.
In trying to rationalize it, I went to the old “He was great…in the NLMAO!”, but that would be pretty hypocritical for a fan of a team whose biggest offseason acquisiton will undergo almost the exact same shift.
Just got to hope that all the old guys in NY finally keel over this year.
