The Rays and Reds are among the teams that have asked the Rangers about Nelson Cruz, but Texas remains reluctant to trade the slugging outfielder, a major league source said Sunday.

Psh, I would.

I can't wait until we trade him for a reliever.

Depends on their money situation.

Little worried that he has a sub-70% contact rate yet only strikes out 25% of the time. That doesn’t seem quite right.

There's no way the Rangers could afford to add his 10mm

At the very least they would have to trade Millwood first.

The guy the Rangers have talked to the Rays about is Upton, but there’s not much chance of that I imagine.

They can get BJ

If they make a offer involving Smoak, of course

Give me a CC long term deal, please!

Use the CC trade pieces + whatever else if necessary

to get Cruz, 2000+ innings of great D and a great bat along with several more years of control.

Yeah agreed

Cruz is definitely not a need and will surely cost us something good.

Sure, now they do this

Where the hell was this in June 2008 when I was screaming for this!!!!

We already have our own Nelson Cruz

He just happens to be in the infield for us and go by Rodriguez

just for the sake of asking

what would it most likely cost us?

Then again I never said I was a genius.....

Cruz

This is one to ponder on but this does not sound like something that gets done. Yet just by thinking it won’t happen means AF has it done and ready for press release tomorrow.

Finally our prayers were listented to

Source St Petersburgh Times

Free agent left-hander Brian Shouse is likely to reject the Rays’ offer of arbitration, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
Shouse has until Monday at midnight to officially make up his mind. The 41-year-old threw just 28 innings in 2009 and posted a 4.50 ERA.

So unless that asshole decides to accept

It’s back to Randy Choate vs R.J Swindle. Go Swindle!

Or maybe the 2nd lefty will be McGee seeing as how he can righties out also and all……

If he accepts, we must assassinate Mr. Shouse

Give me a CC long term deal, please!

Why is he an asshole?

Assassinate is a pretty strong term. For someone that is so close to the river Styx I would think you would have a little sympathy.

I'm a writer.
