The Candidates:

Akinori Iwamura(2007-2009), Joey Gaithright(2004-2006), Ray Sanchez (2004), Antonio Perez (2003)

Ray Sanchez played in 91 games where he had 70 hits, 14 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homeruns, 30 RBIs, and batted .246.

Antonio Perez  was traded by the Seattle Mariners for Randy Winn and the negotiation rights to manager Lou Pinella. Perez would play in 28 games where he would have 31 hits, 6 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homeruns, 12 RBIs, and batted .248. Perez would be traded to the Las Angeles Dodgers, in 2004, for John Romano.

Joey Gathright would play in 150 games where he would have 100 hits, 13 doubles, 3 triples, 27 RBIs, 38 stolen bases, and batted .244. Gathright would be traded in 2006 along with Fernando Cortez to the Kansas City Royals for J.P. Howell.

Akinori Iwamura played in 344 games where he had 379 hits(10th all-time in Devil Rays history), 201 runs (9th all-time)  67 doubles, 21 triples (3rd all-time), 14 homeruns, 104 RBIs, 29 stolenbases, and batted .281 (tied for 9th all-time with Rocco Baldelli). Iwamura would be traded in 2009 to the Pittsburg Pirates for Jesse Chaves.

Aki gets my vote

If only Aki can jump a car, then I believe he would win this vote unanimously.

Next up...Rays' All-Time Team?

Best 1B, 2B, etc.? Worst SP, RP, etc? You could make whole rosters of our all-time best and worst teams, which I think would be a lot of fun to vote on, like these polls. If you don’t want to do the posts, let me know and I can get on that.

I was planning on doing an "all-Rays team"

I will start one probably on Sunday or Monday. I was also going to do a poll about the minor leaguers. Who was the best VSL Ray for pitcher and players. Go through the org. I was going to start that after the all-rays team. i have no problem doing it. Unless you really, really wanted to.

Blah!

No biggie....if you want to do it, go for it.

I just wanted to throw the idea out there, in case you hadn’t thought of it. I just think the polling was a hit and it’d be cool to keep it going.
