Maddon considering Upton for leadoff
"So there's the potential to maybe move B.J. [Upton] up and Aki down, leave it where it is, leave Aki on the top and then fudge it a little in the middle. I'm just not sure what I want to do yet. But I'm not going to say Aki is absolutely going to hit first when I'm considering other things."
R.J. already covered the benefits of such a move

That would be nice
and I wish the Yankee broadcasters actually knew something, they were saying “Upton cant play yet but he will back for Opening Day” too bad they actually don’t know anything.

Upton at leadoff
would be the perfect fit. Getting your best hitters up in the 1st inning is always a plus. An order of Upton, CC, Longo, Pena, Burrell would very productive and very scary for opposing pitchers. Upton would be an upgrade at leadoff.

but no power and possibly lack of average after that
6. Navarro
7. Gabe of the day
8. Iwamura
9. Bartlett
Not sure I want those 4 going one after the other

You want your best hitters to get the most AB's.
If you’re best guys are going 1-5 that is how get the max ABs from them.
