Roger Mooney, of the Bradenton Herald, reports Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Garza said he struggled with his fastball after being traded to the Rays because he lost confidence in the pitch. However, he regained the confidence in his fastball after the team encouraged him to throw it over the plate. "Here they wanted me to throw it over the plate. I was like, 'OK.' When I finally got that confidence back in the fastball, that's when I think I really took off, because I would just throw my fastball and not worry about throwing any other pitch," Garza said.
