Can someone explain to me why it is that when some players(Briggy) do well in Spring Training, people get excited and claim great futures for the player, while when others suck (Nelson) or do really well (Johnson), we mock their work as meaningless?

Can’t have it both ways—in my opinion.

When did I say anything about those other guys? I understand SSS and ST-unpredictability.

I was mearly commenting that after seeing Brignac hit mediocre in Durham, struggle in his short big league stint last year, and struggle up until a few days ago this spring training, it’s nice to see him stringing a few at bats together.

Are you serious?

Just last week people were saying spring was proof wasn’t hitting. Nobody on this site has quoted his spring stats as a reason to say he’s going to be fine. Nobody. Just like nobody should quote his spring stats prior to last week and quote he’s going to bust hard.
