Giambi: No, it's OK. When they didn't pick up my option, I had Tampa as well as Oakland. And Billy and I got on the phone and he said he was going to make some big moves and he went out and got Matt Holliday. That was very tempting to myself. But Tampa also has a young ballclub.

I think what he's saying
to me, it looks like he’s implying the the Rays were a better team then the A’s, and that their youth assures they’re likely to remain competitive during the length of his deal. In print, it looks like a poor choice of words though; I’m sure there’s some kind of context we’re missing.
