TV/Radio: MLB Network/Sun Sports

Lineups:

Pitchers: LH Scott Kazmir, RH Jason Isringhausen, LH Brian Shouse, RH Derek Rodriguez

Things to watch: How about the actual game? The Rays are on TV a limited number of times this spring and this happens to be one of them.

Of course, all eyes will be on the left arm of Scott Kazmir. Kaz makes his third start of the spring and should be good for around 65 pitches. Depending on which Kazmir shows up that could be anywhere between 3-5 innings of work. Keep an eye on slider usage.

Jason Isringhausen makes his second appearance in a Rays uniform. Izzy is technically battling for a spot in the bullpen, but will face hitters in a game situation for only the second time since August 16th.

With a decision on Eduardo Morlan due at some point, this could be the last time we see Derek Rodriguez pitch for the Rays.

During the WBC contest last night between USA and Venezuela, the announcers indicated that Evan Longoria would not be joining the US squad to replace the injured Chipper Jones, and that manager Davey Johnson would go with the squad that is there.

What’s going on in Johnson’s head? He has 10 position players now (Youkilis is injured now). I think Chris Ianetta is the only hitter on his bench

last year when he was “recovering from injury”(i.e., didn’t have his Fastball), he pitched brilliantly? Maybe he had to think & actually pitch? When Kazmir thinks he has the super-fastball, is he not as good?
