Matt Garza working with "dead arm"
Garza, charged with four runs in 42/3 innings in the 15-4 loss, said his "arm didn't feel too great" as he's "facing that dead-arm period where it feels like you have nothing in the tank.
This is something all starters go through in spring as they build up arm strength. Garza threw 74 pitches and like almost all Rays starters not named James Shields, he continued to work on his change-up.
