I have to think
that if they were seriously considering letting Zobrist handle CF until Upton is ready he’d be getting a lot more playing time there.
I'm thinking somebody is getting plunked today

Yeah I remember thinking it was a bitch move.
I also recall that the Rays actually had the last plunk, as if to say ‘enough already’. If I remember correctly, it was Wheeler who did it.

Liz hit Longoria but Liz has had control problems.
Hitting Barty twice? I don’t think that Bartlett crowds the plate too much, but you never know. I vaguely remember that game.

They were hitting Bartlett because he hit a homer off them earlier in the year and thought he was showing them up.
Because you know, he hit a homer, which he normally doesn’t do.

Kind of sucks.
But why do the Rays have to go up North for the first week year in and year out? Why can’t they playin Texas or play in the controlled climate of Toronto, eh?

and as a bonus each pitch is being tracked
Instead of the usual one pitch per AB thing. Is this just because it’s the end of spring training, or the Sox, or what?
Argh, something is gonna happen, I wanna know what
"There’s other things we have to do today, there’s other things that potentially may happen that could impact a lot of different things,‘’ Maddon said. " We needed to broach the subject with (Isringhausen) today to find out exactly how he feels in regard to different options. … We had the conversation and told him the side we were on now.’’

Interesting
If Gary Sheffield is interested in signing with the Rays, they seem at least willing to think about it, though it seems he would have to be able to play rightfield since Pat Burrell is going to be the primary DH.
"That’s very complimentary that he would want to come play for us,’’ manager Joe Maddon said. "I have so much respect for this guy as a baseball player.

Go to Weezy for the wordplay.
Even TIP knows it.
Before Wayne got too strung out and was on every song on the radio he was the best wordsmith in the game. His metaphors and lyrics were amazing. They were often fun or silly, but that is how he is. He used to be a poet.
And we were talking about Lollipop v. Shining Down.
Which is current/new Wayne. I don’t see your point.

yeah, but it's not strong seven.
It’s like walking through a marathon. Yes, you finished the marathon, but you didn’t run a marathon. Yes, Sonny finished 7 innings but, he gave up 5 runs. Is he setting his team up for victory? Yes, but not his best outing.

When I watch Sonny.
It seems like brilliance, & yet, he always seems to leave a ball up that gets destroyed. You’d think he’d learn?
Is it a ADD thing?
Maybe he shouldn’t break camp with the team and go to the concentration camp at the minor-league complex…
He has a very thin margin for error

So in things that mean at least a little
Here’s one potential resolution that may be under discussion – Isringhausen is added to the 40-man roster, and starts getting his $750,000 major-league salary, but is put on the DL and stays in extended spring for a few weeks to build strength and get sharper.
That allows the Rays to keep him, and buys them time to see how closer Troy Percival holds up, to see how often they need a long reliever, and to see how much Isringhausen could be of service.
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
do that and trade Hammel
and give Cormier the final pen spot, that would be nice

Sonny's keeping the seat warm for W. Davis.
Hammel for D. Price, Balfour for J. Niemann.
Sonny was our second best starter last year.
I know this is hard to accept, but he’s actually good.

I agree with this
Though a lot of his value came from the number of innings he threw.

or.
I should say Balfour/Percy/Izzy for Niemann.
3 Things RJ
I think it is hard to accept that he is as good as he is—example the last two times in the regular season against the Red Sox? Masterful. But he just comes across as “non-threatening”.
Seeing him pitch in person, only increases that notion. He seems underwhelming. No fire like with Balfour, in fact, they are very opposite.
It’s odd to me that JP has gotten the respect that he has, while Sonny has not
