Matt Joyce Has Tendinitis
So reports the Heater:
The news on OF Matt Joyce was relatively good, as executive VP Andrew Friedman said the diagnosis is tendinitis in his lower right leg and the Rays expect him to return to the field in the next few days to start doing baseball drills.
Obviously you would rather have a completely healthy Matt Joyce, but at least it's nothing overly serious. I think everyone was getting a wee bit antsy given the Rocco Baldelli era. Of course, Joyce appearing in a few spring training games to give us a teaser of what's to come would have been nice as well, but frankly, this the best time for something like this to pop up. The Rays won't be reliant on Joyce and he can adjust to playing with the added brace in the safe confines of Durham.

It probably doesn't even change his original MLB call-up timetable
And honestly, with as many tough decisions as the Rays are going to face before April 6, an easy decision on their outfield may be a blessing in disguise.
Well said.
Its not like its bad for him, either, hes supposed to be a little ripe still from what i’ve heard, so beating up AAA for a bit and building some confidence… nothing wrong with that.
Get well soon MJ.
