David Price Struggles in Durham Debut
Price sailed through the first but had issues in the second and third, reaching his 75 pitch limit and forcing Charlie Montoyo to pull him after only 3.2 innings. Price did record four strikeouts, but also walked two and allowed a homerun.
Not quite the start Price or the Rays were looking for, especially given one of the major hurdles Price has to leap before a promotion involves pitch efficiency. No word on how many changes thrown or anything else, but we'll see how Price follows this up in his next start later this week.

Small sample size granted (21.2 IP)
but Price has yet to have one single impressive start in AAA.
Hello.
baseball america was liveblogging the game
here:

and they posted a recap, too. the game was notable, of course, because it was the top two prospects in baseball facing one another.

Before heading to Durham
Scott Kazmir had a long talk with Price about pitch efficiency. I believe it’s paying off.

Do what you love to do and give it your very best. Whether it's business or baseball, or the theater, or any field. If you don't love what you're doing and you can't give it your best, get out of it. Life is too short. You'll be an old man before you know it.
