Percival needs to be cut
Friedman should realize the mistake in signing him and get rid of him and I hope while the obese one is here, Maddon doesn’t use him in the 9th
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
You tell me who you trust less than Percy
and if it makes ANY sense, I will agree he shouldnt be the closer
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
Seriously, taking shots at one of the better relievers in our pen is getting tired.

One of the best relievers in baseball last year
Key words last year
His has been slumping since that Ortiz homer in the ALCS.
He had never been a “good” reliever until last year. We all knew there was no way he could repeat last years numbers, but whos to say last year wasn’t just a total fluke. Now he is back to the real Grant Balfour and his +5.00 ERA
His career FIP is 3.7.
That’s over 150 innings.
He’s always been good, just walk happy.

bad postseason
bad spring training (for what its worth)
bad start to 2009
He doesn’t look like the same guy as last year
The spring stats are worthless, you know that.
You shouldn’t allow 11 innings to override the 150 he has in his career. Also read the new post, some things are just unsustainable and poor with him right now.

The bullpen has been awful
but let’s be honest, 9 H in two games won’t cut it
blame most of that
on wheeler (especially him) and percy
"Yeah, I am not the old annoying guy next door. Heck, I don't even know who i am"
because they don't give up 7 runs in f***in inning

i'm not in love with them
but they are not terrible.
how many relievers can we DFA/trade at once? is there a limit?
Right now i like Cormier, Shouse and Nelson
Keep a close eye on Orvella
2 IP
4 K last night
cormier also deserves a shot
sometime around here
"Yeah, I am not the old annoying guy next door. Heck, I don't even know who i am"
do you think niemann could be the closer?
after price is called up
"Yeah, I am not the old annoying guy next door. Heck, I don't even know who i am"
I trust you RJ
they need to show it
Howell always is pitching woith men om base
Post in a few minutes on the whole bullpen mess.
Unless something whacky goes on, those two are going to regress in the way good way soon.

And should we talkabout baserunning again?
At least one run was lost on Kapler
How excited should i be
with the prospects of Niemann attempting to be our ‘stopper’?
Did you see him against Baltimore?
It usually takes him a little while to get going.
Wade Davis on the other hand…

not excited at all
for some odd reason Percy or Izzy will be our stopper
I have to pray McGee comes back strong and becomes the closer. I know he is a good SP spect but come on, Hellickson doesn’t even have a spot
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
I'm not talking about a closer
a stopper is a SP who STOPS a losing streak
In that case
Are we expected a CG from him? He can be brilliant and we can have the same problem
I mean are we expected to get 15 runs to win?
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK
FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCJKFPERCIVAL IS A MOTHERFUCKING FATASS MOTHERFUCKERE
Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.

This.
And that’s all I got to say about Percival.

Perhaps some non-ALE games will allow the pen to settle
and everyone will stop ventilating. I hope.
Today, we are all Honkballers.
Raymondo, no fighting words intended
I wanna ask you something
What makes you so sure JP and Balfour will suck?
JP looks fine overall and has such insane movement on many pitches, Balfour is a little scary but anyone who can come in and strike out the side on any given day should never be in the same sentence with Percival.
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
I know it keeps being said
but Friedman is a genius and its time for him to let Price be a SP so Niemann can be a great RP and cut/DL one of the useless ones
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
I doubt Niemann will be a great RP
I could be wrong though

I want to start loving the DL
if you can make up fake injuries, and put people on there.
"Yeah, I am not the old annoying guy next door. Heck, I don't even know who i am"
Why did Sonny not pitch the 6th?
78 pitches seems like a total waste when he was looking OK, and then you depend on the bullpen.
working on that post too

I hope Percy is at least "punished"
And well, anyone besides Percy or Wheeler gets the 9th inning for a few games
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
Where did everyone who was all up in arms over ST stats go
Percival was great then!!!!
I could be wrong though
ST stats don't mean anything
fuck Troy Percival
I could be wrong though
by staplemaniac on Apr 15, 2009 7:58 PM EDT up reply actions
I never had confidence in him closing out games for us
During ST, I thought maybe he can be a OK MR, I hate that he somehow is the closer after what he did last season
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
Why
did you say that?
"Yeah, I am not the old annoying guy next door. Heck, I don't even know who i am"
also, games like this burn the hell out of me
we only won the division by TWO games last year. TWO. and if percy hadn’t been out for most of last year, i wonder if we’d have won the division at all.
Actually, Wheeler picked up most of the slack in save situations
And I think he ended blowing 5 out of 18 opportunities. I doubt the team would have been any worse if he had been around all year.
