....And A Tradition Is Born.
I Hereby decree, that in all future rays gamed day threads, that whenever Dan Wheeler or Troyseph Percival are in, All DRaysBay members in the thread will not be allowed to use vowels.
If it worked once, it will work everytime.

I about projectile-vomited on my laptop after seeing that.

i used vowels during the wheeler/percival appearances and we won. Thus, i should use vowels next time they are pitching.
I warned you and if you do it again you're getting boxed
Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.
maybe we won because i used vowels. do you really want to take that chance and not let me use vowels?

When you posted vowels he fucked up

So now I know how my dad felt growing up in New York watching Willie Mays
Thanks BJ

I'm terrified by the mod actions list.
Like this:
The most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. I hate you so very much-Tyler
I just got back from the game and read the GDT
I for one vote no on the no vowels thing. Half of it was illegible and, also, a bunch of people used vowels anyways. also, Percival wasn’t particularly good, he just got lucky this time.
I could be wrong though

BJ'esus....
Although a common term for scaring something out of someone… This should already be a new DRAYBAY mantra… but I don’t think I’ve seen it yet. I’m sorry if someone already has had this idea… but if so… It is not used nearly enough…

I vote "If you don't do it I will box you"
Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.
The power of being the only gdt mod is corrupting you
it’s just a little ridiculous. Would you think it’s good that every time you do that he gets 2 baserunners? If I’m in the GDT I will just be a conscientious objector.
I could be wrong though

I'm not the only gdt mod :<
Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.
I thought I read that you were for this game because RJ was there
It was a joke anyways. I mean, who am I kidding, I’m gonna be on the GDT no matter what people are doing.

"Percival wasn’t particularly good"
This is true.
…,he just got lucky this time.
This is not. The pitches he missed to the first two batters he missed very badly and they were all out of the strike zone. His strikes were more or less right where Navi was putting the target, and his first two outs were easy.
The third batter he inexplicitly got squeezed. That guy was out twice. Follow that with a grounder that is clearly an out if a shift isn’t in place, and then a harmless popup. He wasn’t good, but this particular outing he was by no means bad.

Attendance last night was very good
As has been pointed out before, Friday night games haven’t traditionally been big draws. 28,927 is nearly double what they were getting on normal Fridays early last year.

Ticketmaster has a weird thing about clustering people.
One baseline box packed, the next completely empty. No wonder people always think the place is barren.
Also, I think I was in the neighborhood of your seats, given your banner raising photos. Fantastic view you have.

I wonder if the extra 30 minutes help that much.
Or if it’s just a combo of that, the new bus routes to the Trop, first Friday game of the year and the ChiSox. Either way, I hope this continues.
Chisox didn't draw that well in the regular season last year.
Friday 4/18/08 – 12,379
Friday 5/29/09 – 14,679
Also, First Friday of last year vs. Baltimore – 12,146
I think the #1 factor is all of the Friday/Weekend/40 game plans they sold, which likely were not reflected in the attendance on Thursday. With the exception of prime games, I expect them to sit around 15 on Monday-Thursday…which is actually quite an improvement over last year.

Slowinski has more on this tomorrow.
But yeah, the Sox never draw well here.

So what about cursing for a whole game
when percy and wheeler do something stupid that blows the game?
