No decision on Roster expected until Sunday
There’s nothing new on the pitching front today, according to Joe Maddon, and he indicated there probably won’t be until Sunday.
Rosters have to be set by 3 p.m. that day, and I would be very surprised if a trade doesn’t happen between now and then. There obviously is a market out there for Jason Hammel and/or Jeff Niemann, and it only stands to reason that the Rays are waiting as long as they can just in case another offer comes in.

He'd be a servicable long man
Basically he would be as good or better than Hammel was in that role last year. And I’d expect Niemann or Hammel to get traded and Cormier will make the team.

yes, he is awful.
I’ve got very low expectations for him.
He seems like somebody we’d have had on the team back in 2002 or some such year.
21% slider, 19% changeup. The slider and changeups were correctly differentiated, but I’m sure the 2-seam and 4-seam were not. I wouldn’t really even want to try to differentiate the two. He might really have thrown all 4-seams for all I know.
