"Pretty much the whole year I was a two-pitch pitcher," said Kazmir, who noted he had success at the beginning of the season due to exceptional location. "It's tough to face these Major League hitters with just two pitches. They know what they're doing. They watch my video and they can adjust as much as they can. So it's nice to have that third pitch in there. [It] feels like an equalizer."
With the slider back in his arsenal, Kazmir plans to mix up his pitches a lot more this season.

- B.J. Upton DH'd in an extended spring training game today(0-4). He will start the season opener for the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Thursday in centerfield. He will DH on Friday and be back in centerfield on for the Stone Crabs on Saturday.
- Jason Isringhausen pitched one inning in today's extended ST game.

I ran into Toby Hall yesterday at a Rally gas station in clearwater and talked with a him for a few minutes. He said his shoulder feels better and that he still has 8 months of rehab left, which he hates, considering this is his first serious injury. We talked about a friend of mine he used to go fishing with all the time when I was in highschool and that was about it. Anyways, it was just really random and cool to see Toby and get a chance to talk with him.

Baltimore has a pretty good lineup. Just need some pitching(which will be there in a few years)
Baltimore has a super-solid young core. Every bit as talented as ours.
Their pitching is mostly tied up in prospect, which makes them inherently more risky, but they are going to a formidable challenge as early as this year.

i have Huff and Cust in the 2 util spots.
so I have no closers, which is the first reason why I was trading in the first place. The issue is losing a young stud like Votto in a keeper league. what I gain is more speed in Victorino since Milledge/Matsui is my main source of steals [not that great], plus I get saves [it is a roto league so i need to have some of every category], and Bonifacio is more speed on the bench, plus upside, plus Chipper replacement since Huff will be my 1B if Votto leaves.
so I upgrade speed, upgrade a utility guy/chipper replacement, and get saves. and lose a young slugger.
I have Logan Morrison in the minors… and Weglarz as far as possible power sources.
I was possibly saving Votto to use him to get BOSSMAN… but it doesn’t look like that will happen, as it might involve a 3-team deal.

Fox, which runs Sun Sports, and Verizon reached an agreement Wednesday afternoon. However, Knology customers still cannot see the Rays games scheduled for Sun Sports and the sides do not appear close to reaching an agreement. There is a disagreement on how much the cable system has to pay Fox for the Rays games on Sun Sports.
“We would like to have Fox come back with a more reasonable cost,‘’ said Tony Palermo, Knology’s vice-president of marketing, "The problem is we would have to pass the price of the fees on to our customers and, economically, we don’t feel that’s the wise thing to do. My guess is 5 percent of the market is intense about seeing 150 baseball games instead of 75. But we would have to pass the cost onto the other 95 percent of our customers, as well. In these economic times, I don’t think the consumers want to pay more.’’
Palermo, however, knows Rays fans will be upset.
“We will have a handful who will raise Cain with us,‘’ said Palermo, who is based at the company’s headquarters in Atlanta. "They are going to be upset, hopefully not upset enough to leave our service. But we also have to look at the other 95 percent of our customers. We’re stuck between a rock and a hard place.’’
