Nick Adenhart Killed In Car Accident
TMZ has learned Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed in a felony hit-and-run car accident in Fullerton, California early this morning -- hours after he pitched in a game last night.
Extremely sad to see. Adenhart was just 22 years old and had a ton of potential. Thoughts are with Nick's family.

Terrible, terrible
it puts things into perspective
we get too carried away with the ‘on the field’ aspects not realizing it’s not life and death
Being the around the same age as Adenhart
it really drives home the fact that you could be gone at any moment. Terrible.

This sucks
He gives a great performance, and just like that he’s gone.
AC/DC + Tampa Bay Rays = Big Balls on a Budget
He pitched just last night
Damn, they go too damn young too often
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
Wow...
This sucks hard.
I want Baldelli to be healthy enough to play in 150 games, I just hope he sucks. Like Greg Vaughn suck.
Terrible Terrible news
The minivan’s driver fled the scene and was later arrested, Brower said. Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, of Riverside will face charges of manslaughter, felony driving under the influence and hit-and-run, he said.
I was just about to say something to that effect.
He’s fucked now, felony hit-and-run is the least of his concerns now. DUI + Manslaughter x3 = He ain’t ever getting out of jail.

Little Harsh
He’s still just basically a kid himself. One who obviously needs to grow the hell up. Hopefully he spends a good deal of time and jail, and learns from this experience.
And for those on these boards that this may apply to, remember that the Rays will offer you a ride home if you think you’ve had a few too many. Just go to guest services in the main concourse behind home plate. If you ever find yourself questioning whether you’ve had to many, the answer is ‘Yes’.

Along those same lines
They give away a free jersey every night to people who volunteer to stay sober and take drunks home at the end of the game. So even if you’re not drinking, stop by fan services.
Maybe you’ll even get doubly lucky with your passenger.

This is really sad.
I was so excited to get online and see Porcello’s first pitches… and I see this on yahoo’s front page. really sad, I always liked Nick a lot
God bless
A horrific tragedy….Reminds everyone how precious life is. Unfair, it really is. My condolences to everyone.
Put Tampa Bay back on our road uniforms!!
Well
it’s nice to see that one of the AL East blogs has a high profile entry on this story. What a terrible tragedy, i almost had to pinch myself when i heard the news this morning on the way in to work. 22 years old, i can’t imagine what his family and friends and the family and friends of the other two people killed must be going through. The culprit was 22 year old Mr Gallo from Riverside CA, who was drunk and tried to flee the scene on foot.
vr, Xei
Actually, I saw this posted prominently on both the Red Sox and Orioles Blogs too
But yeah it’s quite unfortunate when things like this happen. It’s not right for his family and the team to have to go through something like this because some jackass had to get drunk and hop behind the wheel of a car.

RIP NICK ADENHART 1986-2009
i have followed this kid when he was a senior in HS and knew the angels got a steal when they drafted him and have followed his career with a close eye since i love watching prospects grow, espically this guy, i was glad for him that he finally was living up to his prospect hype and thinking about how he can really help the angels this year. horrible loss at such a young age.
