2009 Minor League Seasons Begin Tonight
The series win up in Fenway was a great way to start the season, but switching gears I wanted to remind everyone that the farm system is ringing the dinner bell on what could shape up to be a season of feasting in the cities of Durham, Montgomery, Charlotte, and Bowling Green. I wanted to quickly cover some basics for those that are unfamiliar with our teams and offer up some links that you may find useful.

Pretty good preview of the International League
This link should give you the option to download the article. I thought they did a pretty good job of covering Durham and it can give you a good idea of how the other teams shape up.
These are courtesy of MiLB.com. I find it pretty interesting that the recently acquired Aneury Rodriguez bumped Hellboy as the new youngest player in Montgomery. Lets hope both of them continue their success.
Here's a link to follow the teams' success at Baseball-Reference.com
We have awhile until the stats will be meaningful, but it doesn't mean you can't cherrypick stats to prove a point in the meantime.
Raysprospects gives more in depth coverage of all our teams and works hard to keep you updated.
I think this should give anyone a good headstart on following our soon to be Major Leaguers as they climb that ladder in 2009. Hopefully Durham will be able to go to back-to-back Championship Series and Montgomery will be able to get back to that stage as well. We are breaking in a couple of new team as Charlotte has moved over from Vero Beach and Bowling Green takes over for Columbus. I will keep you abreast of team and individual achievements throughout the year on a weekly basis. So after you're done scouting out those links make sure you come on back.

If you're being serious, you're insane.
He’s hands down the best prospect in baseball.
Tools Whore
I would say yes.
He’s an elite switch hitting catcher who controls the strike zone and happens to be a great defender at a position that is basically barren. Price is a very good prospect, the best pitching prospect in the minors, but I would rate Wieters better.
Tools Whore
They face each other tomorrow night
So we can make rash judgments based on 2 at-bats in a AAA game!

I like
Do what you love to do and give it your very best. Whether it's business or baseball, or the theater, or any field. If you don't love what you're doing and you can't give it your best, get out of it. Life is too short. You'll be an old man before you know it.
