Normally I would be so pissed
But I haven’t seen a loss like that in so long, I am simply at a loss for words.
2010 Rotation: 1. Shields 2. Kazmir 3. Garza 4. Price 5. Davis with Hellickson knocking on the door, it keeps getting better and better
We've been awful in these games
We’re what, 3-6 in 1-run games-and the bullpen for the 5th consecutive game hasn’t put up zeros, and the decision to bench Pena definitely came back to bite us. Not to mention the overall poor play, swinging outside the swing zone, a bloop pop-up that should’ve been caught, and leaving runners on base basically every time.
Pena and Upton absolutely sucked the nuts in the 9th
I can’t even put into words how pathetic they were. Virtually any outcome other than a K would have tied the game. Making contact is not hard at all if you don’t have to worry about how good the contact is.
We've beaten Nathan and Rivera
You can’t always get the run across when you’re dealing with one of the best closers in the game. I hate Pap the man, I respect Pap the Closer.

I wouldn't have a problem if he set us down 1-2-3
But he clearly didn’t have it and we totally let him off the hook.

He was throwing 97 gas upstairs
The last 2 pitches to Pena were borderline, must swing at pitches, and Pena doesn’t climb the ladder all that well. Beej can’t touch Moyer’s FB right now, what is he supposed to do with Pap Smear?

Also, I would have liked to have seen Beej drop down a bunt. At least he can do that very well. And worse case
the runner gets cut down at the plate and we have speed on the corners.

Vs K'ing which is the actual worst thing that could have happened?

Runners on second and third means you're a single from taking the lead.
Runners on first and second means there’s a force play to be had at two bases for any ball put into play, and that there’s two outs.

I don't want to sound argumentative, but it would have been Beej on first if they get the out at the plate
It still would have been 2nd and 3rd with two fact runners for Craw. Best case we tie the game and still have a man on 3rd with two outs and a L-R favorable matchup. I get what you’re saying, and if Beej was moneyballin right now I’d have no problem. Just seems like he needs to make an adjustment until he’s back on the rails.

Looking at the big picture you are right
At the start of the 9th I thought we were toast. As soon as Bartlett got that hit things changed. There is no excuse not to score that run. I don’t care if it is Jesus Christ pitching. Down by 1, man on 3rd, less than 2 outs. Pena and Upton failed miserably. They needed to sack up and do what was needed to be done in order to tie the game. They failed. All they had to do with make contact that was not a ground ball to the pitcher or a pop up in the infield. Even shallow OF would have been okay. That gives them a lot of options. There is no way around it.
Can we have BJ attempt to bunt on from now on?

Yes. Many times.
Have you recorded a positive comment all season?
