Why is Navi resting with 2 other starters out?

Come on real BJ, Longo, Pena and Barty! Any extra offense would be nice, too.

6-2 should be like a minimum to get some momentum going, get out of a losing record & beat up the bad teams.

Burrell/Upton/Navarro’s slow starts? Does he get credit for Bartlett/Longoria/Pena then?

by R.J. Anderson on May 14, 2009 8:31 PM EDT up reply actions

i understand those points, but inconsistent hitting has been a big problem for this team.

whether it’s directly attributable to henderson is unclear, but he’s the guy in charge of the team’s hitting, and there has to be a fall guy. it’s the same as when a manager gets fired. i’m not saying we should fire hendu, but this leaves much to be desired.

Obviously that’d be cutting back on their development, but if the Rays were focused solely on winning a pennant this year…

Jaso backing up Navs, Davis in the pen (Wheeler), Talbot in the pen (Percy), Niemann in the pen (Cormier), Price in the rotation, Joyce in RF… That’s fucking hot.

... I DON'T THINK EVAN LONGORIA IS ANY GOOD.

I DON’T GET WHY YOU GUYS THINK HE’S SO AMAZING.

by Suttree on May 14, 2009 8:50 PM EDT up reply actions

Joyce is no wheres as good as Evan

Nor can he ever imagine being as good as him.

by Sylar on May 14, 2009 8:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Not really.

It’s insane to think Joyce will ever amount to anything near Evan, who some are calling the best player in the MLB, even better than Pujols.

by Sylar on May 14, 2009 8:52 PM EDT up reply actions

do you honestly think people here think hes the next Evan?

come on now…

2010 Rotation: 1. Shields 2. Kazmir 3. Garza 4. Price 5. Davis with Hellickson knocking on the door, it keeps getting better and better

i have a question

you ALWAYS ask why we love Joyce so why do you hate the guy so much?

2010 Rotation: 1. Shields 2. Kazmir 3. Garza 4. Price 5. Davis with Hellickson knocking on the door, it keeps getting better and better

it might be his great D(in LF or RF not CF) and his and his above average power potential....

Jaso would be better than Hernendez, thats a fact

and Talbot is at least better than Wheels

Change Davis to Thayer.

I’d rather not burn service time for Davis.

by R.J. Anderson on May 14, 2009 8:46 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm talking about in a vacuum.

If you had to put together a team to win the pennant this year, you’d have Davis in the pen.

But, yes, it’d be nice if they brought up Thayer soon.

by Suttree on May 14, 2009 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions

Maybe

Maybe if they run around the bases so much today, they’ll be tired for the rest of the series.

Kaz better not get lit up tomorrow

otherwise that’s a lot of pressure on Garza to go 7+ with the team having so many problems.

by Transplanted on May 14, 2009 8:58 PM EDT reply actions

Seriously

Let’s just get this game over with. This is an embarassment. Maybe we should put in Percival and go for an overuse injury.

by RayFanNY on May 14, 2009 8:59 PM EDT reply actions

Since we are racing for third place

I say root for Toronto. Besides, it’s great to watch Yankee fans squirm like worms on a hook when their best laid plans go awry.

BA mock draft:

 30. RAYS. The Rays don’t have many pressing needs besides
catcher, and backstops will start to provide some of the best value
in the draft at this point. Besides Stassi and Sanchez, other
catching possibilities include Myers and Arizona high schooler Tommy
Joseph.
 Projected Pick: TONY SANCHEZ.

by R.J. Anderson on May 14, 2009 9:41 PM EDT reply actions
