BACK ON TRACK: LHP Scott Kazmir said he has had a breakthrough in figuring out how to fix the mechanical issues that have him in his recent funk.
Kazmir worked on it during his last bullpen session, which he said went "great." But he said the biggest thing in tonight's start is not thinking about mechanics, and just pitching.

This is what I've been saying the whole time. Kazmir is clearly too intellectual. He needs to stop thinking, stop writing his novel, stop trying to find more prime numbers, and just pitch!

lolz at finding more prime numbers
Do what you love to do and give it your very best. Whether it's business or baseball, or the theater, or any field. If you don't love what you're doing and you can't give it your best, get out of it. Life is too short. You'll be an old man before you know it.

He says similar things before almost every start
And it hasn’t changed a thing.
So does every other sucky pitcher.
Which is why nobody should get too excited about it.

Of course
It is just sad to see how far he is fallen. I actually feel sorry for the guy and the Rays. This was hard to predict. Heck I doubt the Tigers wouldn’t even trade Ejax for Kaz. He has really fallen.
How many more starts like this before we DL Kaz? or move him to the pen?
DL or dealt seems more likely than pen.

Maybe it's an
out for him now. He can see he found the flaw and is working on it. Can’t expect it to be fixed overnight, especially without the crowd being involved.
Does he think he can gain velocity, command of the strike zone or both I wonder
because now he’s a 88 mph fastball pitcher with little control. his slider doesn’t scare anyone anymore and batters know they can foul off a few pitches and he will certainly lose control and walk you.
he has a lot to imporove and i fail to see how everything is going to come together after 4 days of working on mechanics.
Regressing to the mean streets of St. Pete
How is this news?
He says this every freaking time he has a bad outing—in fact he was saying it last year!
Then he goes out and sucks, and lo and behold, he complains of MORE mechanical issues, which OF COURSE, he fixes before his next game.
Blah.
I have a feeling Kazmir's career in Tampa Bay is going to mirror the development cycle for the Duke Nukem series.

Oh it ended. 3D went OOB.
"Where we all wait in earnest with pudding in hand for the Upton comet to sail through the roofed skies, so that we may meet Him."
But see they still want to finish it.
But the dude that owns the rights won’t sell it to them to finish it. I think.
Swav or Die.
If you've been paying attention since 1997, you should know better by now.

I want it to continue.
I didn’t really follow it. It wouldn’t be worth the wait after the first year or so.

LIES LIES LIES.
Some breakthrough. Couldn’t get out of the 5th inning.
Kaz Figured it Out!
Yeah he figured out, sweet. He figured out that when he could throw 95 to 98 he could get by with a fastball down broad way compared to the 91 mph he’s throwing now. Either find the heat again Ricky Vaughn or find a seat. Sorry Kaz but I got to call them like I see it.
