Total win
Complete win, well played, thorough.
Put Tampa Bay back on our road uniforms!!
And Yankees, Sox and Jays lose
and Indians (personal)
Additional in the Indians game
Gomes with his first Reds hit-double, and the Indians pitching is so bad it injures itself to save face

how does a guy go 3-5, hit a homerun and have 4 rbi's
and have a negative WPA?
shows how utterly worthless some of those measurements are
Give me a home run hitting 4 RBI negative WPA guy every day. Imagine that conversation in an arbitration hearing.
The Rays have a run differential of +35 (249 RS, 214 RA)
That’s fifth in all of baseball. Best .500 team ever.
Hello.
Yea, well, if we lose tomorrow 3-2, i don't want to hear about our run differnential.

Don't we have
The 2nd best Offensive in the MLB in terms of RPG?

Remember when we were collectively screaming about this team not scoring runs?
Yeah, I feel stupid too, and yes we’re second behind……Philadelphia.
"Where we all wait in earnest with pudding in hand for the Upton comet to sail through the roofed skies, so that we may meet Him."
Best in franchis history at 5.7 RPG

Thayer...
Strikes, strikes and again, strikes. low to mid 90s, movement, quick worker. Tiny sample size, but from what I just saw, I would take him over both Wheeler and Nelson. Also, isn’t it interesting that Thayer should remind us of another reliever who was burning up Durham about this time last year, and then came up and made a big impact. If this continues, I’d be for DFAing Wheeler before sending Thayer down whenever Kazmir gets back.
Very cool to see a 28 year old guy do well in his debut. Looks like a utility infielder on the hill (Seaver he is not) but I like what I saw so far.
Dale Thayer made A.F. a man with a very tough decision come Monday
Thayer looked very good, however the game was out of hand and no pressure at all. When Price needs to come up does Thayer go down, Brignac? My vote would still be, DFA Kapler and platoon Brignac with Aki and 2B, but given that Brignac came in for Bartlett, not Aki, I’m guessing Maddon doesn’t think he is ready to play 2B yet.
I think when you are on a big league hill for the first time...
you feel it in your gut, regardless of the score, so I think for him, it might have been consistent with a close game save situation in Durham. I think he will have good results overall. Not saying closer material, but surely a solid 7th inning guy, or another long guy to maybe allow Cormier to be in higher leverage situations.

Thayer is not a long man
I’d be happy to see him in the 6th or 7th of a close game.

are you really comfortable using any reliever for 3+ innings
because if you are, they would be a starter. At least in most cases.
I agree in close games in the mid to late innings, but he just went through three innings like it was nothing
Not saying he need to be only a long guy, I just think he is the type of guy who can do both (like JP).

I think it helped that we were up 14 runs and Florida was hacking at every pitch
in a closer game I would imagine teams will take more pitches.
Noted, but a lot of strikes were thrown. If he pulled a Dave Dave Davidson
they would not have been swinging so much.
