More Sox fans than Rays fans this series?
Maybe I was delusional at the time, but I actually expected to see more Rays fans than Sox fans Saturday night.
I noticed on TV that Thursday's game had a lot of empty seats in the lower bowl. The attendance was reported to be 20,341. Friday, was a little better with 27,045. Saturday night was dissapointing. The attendance was reported at 34,910, but it was very apparent early on that more people were there to support the Red Sox. I know that the local fans of opposing teams always seem to come out in droves for the first series their team is in town, and then as the season moves along you tend to see them less and less during the next two series they play here. Maybe the Sox fans jumped on these Saturday tickets sooner than the Rays fans did. Maybe a lot of Rays bandwagon fans have jumped off already after only being 1/6 of the way into the season. From the time I stepped out of my car and saw some yahoo who was sporting a Sox shirt under his open Rays jersey to the time I sat down in my seat in the upper infield and observed way more red shirts than I cared to see to watching Jeff Neimann giving Sox fans to act like, well, Sox fans, it was a disappointing night. Thanks Evan, Carlos, Pat, and bullpen arms for trying to keep the game close. Nice catch, BJ.
So, you have my Saturday night report. To those that went to the Trop on Thursday and/or Friday nights, did you think the Rays fans were outnumbered?

Friday night
it was probably 70/30 Rays fans. I actually thought it would be a lot more Sox fans and was plesantly suprised.

Last night seemed rough, more in favor of Sox "fans", who apparently only have two chants.
Let’s Go, Red Sox and YOOOOOOOOOOUK. They’re like robots.
Also, it could just be appearance – the red shirts stand out more.

I was at all four qames
Rays fans were the vast majority every night and today as well. At least 70% for all f our games. When they would attempt to cheer we would drown them out every town.

Seemed like a lot were there on Saturday.
I was sitting next to one who didn’t even know Doug Mientkesandwich was on the 2004 team.

There are definately some clueless Red Sux fans showing up.
My friend said he was next to some who didn’t realize that Julio Lugo used to play for the Rays.

Real, live quote from a Red Sox "fan":
“2004 made me fall in love with baseball.”
My typical question for Sox fans is: Who hit the game-tying homer in Game 6 of the 75 Series. If they don’t know it’s Hendu, chances are pretty fucking good they’re a bandwagoner.
