Dukes update

Dukes (hamstring) has been threatened by a Florida court with jail time if he fails to pay legal fees for his estranged wife, the Tampa Tribune reports.
Spin:
Dukes has until June 5 to pay approximately $40,000, or else he could face up to 90 days in jail. There’s no reason to indicate he won’t make the payment, and if he does he could return from the disabled list sometime in early June.

I actually enjoy, and understand sports.

Therefore I hate players with a passion that leave because of money reasons, or are traded because of money issues.

Also, don't cry to much for Rocco. It isn't like he isn't rolling in millions of dollars that our tickets

help pay for. Which allowed him to come back to baseball, just to run off to the Red Sox.

RJ's Apprentice

So I just got back from Derby Lane…. come the 7th race I see that #6 dog is named RJ’S APPRENTICE. So I play the $2 win… LAST PLACE

I stick around for the 8th race… not learning my lessson, I see that the #6 dog in this race is RJ’S IMBEAUTIFUL… So I play the $2 win….. LAST PLACE

Lesson learned… never bet on anything named after RJ

Hm.
The Tampa Bay Ray have made the following roster move affecting Double-A Montgomery prior to their game tonight against the Carolina Mudcats:

RHP Chris Mason promoted to Durham (AAA) [22 + 2]

The move leaves the Biscuits two players shy of the Southern League maximum of 24 active players. Two players are currently on the disabled list (Jeremy Hellickson, Jason Perry).

Bad calls are obviously never the pitchers fault

I said it is more of his own doing because sometimes your reputation preceeds you. After having thrown 100 pitches in 4 innings last outing. And facing a notoriously tight ump. This is kind of to be expected. That’s all. Not saying I agree with it, Just looking at it objectively. Guy needs to attack the zone better in two strike counts.

Davis isn’t top 15 either. Also, Adam Miller is ranked – he’s out for the year AGAIN and is pretty much a non-prospect at this point.

108 pitches

A bit much for 5.2 IP but the 11Ks explains it. Only 2 BB is nice too

Is signing him to an extension out of the question?

Supposedly he loves playing here, I think the real question is what does he love more, The rays or $$$

by Rjw123 on May 30, 2009 6:42 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Couldn't we

maybe give him an extra year or so for less per year(more overall money) or maybe have it spread out past his playing time?

by Transplanted on May 30, 2009 6:44 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Or load the crap outa the back end

Then trade him when he starts to tail off?

by Rjw123 on May 30, 2009 6:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well as a fan of course

as a fiscal issue dunno, hopefully

by Transplanted on May 30, 2009 6:37 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Can we officially consider the Twins

owned as far as them having traded for Young? Or do we need more time?
