Dukes update
Dukes (hamstring) has been threatened by a Florida court with jail time if he fails to pay legal fees for his estranged wife, the Tampa Tribune reports.
Spin:
Dukes has until June 5 to pay approximately $40,000, or else he could face up to 90 days in jail. There’s no reason to indicate he won’t make the payment, and if he does he could return from the disabled list sometime in early June.

I actually enjoy, and understand sports.
Therefore I hate players with a passion that leave because of money reasons, or are traded because of money issues.

Also, don't cry to much for Rocco. It isn't like he isn't rolling in millions of dollars that our tickets
help pay for. Which allowed him to come back to baseball, just to run off to the Red Sox.

Hm.
The Tampa Bay Ray have made the following roster move affecting Double-A Montgomery prior to their game tonight against the Carolina Mudcats:
RHP Chris Mason promoted to Durham (AAA) [22 + 2]
The move leaves the Biscuits two players shy of the Southern League maximum of 24 active players. Two players are currently on the disabled list (Jeremy Hellickson, Jason Perry).

Bad calls are obviously never the pitchers fault
I said it is more of his own doing because sometimes your reputation preceeds you. After having thrown 100 pitches in 4 innings last outing. And facing a notoriously tight ump. This is kind of to be expected. That’s all. Not saying I agree with it, Just looking at it objectively. Guy needs to attack the zone better in two strike counts.

You want me to field a baseball AND hit the baseball?
For this I should be paid at least double what you originally offered.
by putupyourDUKES on May 30, 2009 6:29 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
For this pittance I should make hitting?

that's why I ask if we keep him... not weither we pick up his option nor weither we don't
maybe I need to be more clear for you.
by RalphieTheRay on May 30, 2009 6:40 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Is signing him to an extension out of the question?
Supposedly he loves playing here, I think the real question is what does he love more, The rays or $$$

If we offer him a realistic contract and he turns it down I'll boo him forever

by putupyourDUKES on May 30, 2009 6:46 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Well
if it’s big big money can’t blame him, but for like a million yeah I’d be sad

If we give him a realistic offer
Which we will, and he turns it down.
Booing him forever.
by putupyourDUKES on May 30, 2009 6:56 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Couldn't we
maybe give him an extra year or so for less per year(more overall money) or maybe have it spread out past his playing time?
by Transplanted on May 30, 2009 6:44 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Or load the crap outa the back end
Then trade him when he starts to tail off?
by Rjw123 on May 30, 2009 6:52 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Well as a fan of course
as a fiscal issue dunno, hopefully
by Transplanted on May 30, 2009 6:37 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Can we officially consider the Twins
owned as far as them having traded for Young? Or do we need more time?

Best Balfour has looked all season
Percival saw Dr. Koko Eaton's last name and mistook it for his prescribed treatment.
