I know it's a ways a way, but my guess is Andrew Friedman and company are going to be very cautious come the trade deadline. Most of the reason being is not because we want to be, but because were broke. So for shits and giggles I compiled a small list of a couple of guys we could attempt to trade for if DRO did get a wild hair up their ass and get rid of the payroll we currently have and reinvest.
Guys on our team I wouldn't mind trading:
Dan Wheeler RP $3.2 million salary Gabe Kapler OF $1 million
Andy Sonnanstine SP $320 K Gabe Gross OF $1.25 million
Chad Bradford RHP $3.67 million Shawn Riggans $414 K
Guys I wouldn't mind trading for:
Damn, I can take 1 guy off the list, Ramon Castro is no All Star, but he is a serviceable backup. He was just traded to the White Sox.
Dan Uggla 2b Florida - 5.3 million - He's played like shit this year, but I believe a change of scenery would bode him well.
Freddy Sanchez Pittsburgh 2b - 6.25 million
Fill in the blank for your choice of relief pitchers, I'll even keep Bradford if he continues rehab and does well, I just figured he makes too much loot.
A couple relievers who may be available because there team won't be in contention - LaTroy Hawkins Houston, Ron Villone Wash., Chris Sampson Houston, Houston Street Colorado, Brad Ziegler Oakland, Michael Wuertz Oakland, Andrew Bailey Oakland.
Not all these guys are household names but are having fine years thus far. I know alot can change between now and the deadline, I just figured I'd get your guy's take.
