man sonny needed this!
i was starting to listen to the haters. andy, sorry i doubted you.
Regressing to the mean streets of St. Pete
The haters are only good at one thing and only come out one time
as JJ would say, I prefer to hear the stunned silence of the haters over the celebration of the real fans.

It's good to see a solid Sonnanstine outing
The only thing that’s sad about this is that he should be A. 3-3 on the year, and B. He’s still only gotten credit for 1 Win since August of 2008 not including the post season(he’s got more post season wins than regular wins in like 15 starts)
Luckily no one here nor in the Front Office, in the clubhouse, or on the bench gives 2 squirts of a piss about W-L record

Doesn't seem like a very good reason to get worked up over it
And, RJ, your statement is not an absolute. A 0-18 W-L record… you have to be able to take something from that.
and if you disagree, please provide an example of an extreme W-L record that was entirely misleading
Oh sure, put the burden of proof on the person who's written about this crap 3,000 times on this site.
Nothing stuck out more than Rijo’s stretch at the end of 1988 and the beginning of 1989, however. 10 starts, all with two runs allowed or less. His ERA over that stretch was 0.68. He didn’t allow a single home run. He went 3-0.

pretty good example
given what I presented yesterday, I do think there is some value to W-L records, but in either case it’s nothing to take offense at.
I'm not taking offense to it.
I’m just saying, it means absolutely nothing. There’s no predictive value from it and there’s absolutely nothing you can gain from knowing a pitcher went 13-11 last year. Nothing. You don’t know how many of those 11 losses were from bad pitching or how many of those 13 wins were from good pitching. It’s guess work.
I guess you can see the guy factored into 24 decisions, but what does honestly do for you?

crappy run support :)
Growing up an Astros fan, I’ll never forget watching Nolan Ryan lead the league in K’s and ERA and end up with an 8-16 record because the Astros had no offense what so ever.

If people wouldn't base decisions or judgements on it
then I wouldn’t be riled up. I should go to your boss and tell him that you deserve a demotion because I saw you miss your trash can on a couple of crumpled up pieces of paper.

Nice to see you could bring something interesting to the dialogue
I proposed a thesis, you propose an antithesis, we get together and come up with something more closely resembling the truth. you failed on your part.

haha
come on dude, that analogy was a stretch. I understand you’re trying to say that it’s irrelevant, but I thought it was taking it too far
you're right
I’m tired for now just go suck something
