What the [bleep] is wrong with David Price?
Last nights line:
Price, David 6IP,4ER, 5BB, 0K
Granted this may be one of his worse starts, it's pretty indicative that something in his development has gone awry. He has not been lights out in any single start, and really just looks mediocre at times. His walks are up, his K's are down. I personally am starting to worry some. Any guesses as to what the [bleep] is wrong with David Price?

He's walking a batter per inning
GB rate has gone south, LD and FB rates up. Something peculiar going on.

Obviously there is a lot of disenchantment there. But I hope the last commentator is correct. Perhaps it is that he is working on the breaking ball, and that is why his results have been so disappointing. If so, we can all breathe easier.
It is just inconceivable to me that the Rays would let him pitch through an injury or that he has suddenly lost his ability or motivation. And I don’t think the pop psychology about moving too fast last year have much credibility either. It is disturbing to see one of our great hopes struggle, but the overwhelming evidence remains that he is what we think he is, a top flight major league pitcher in the making.

In an interview before the season Friedman had said they were sending him down to work on mastering a 3rd pitch.
So I am sure that is what he has been working on

Only because of that last sentence.

I've been thinking it for awhile but
if we were to need to call up a starter right now I think we should look at Wade Davis, While his walks are up everything else says he has dominated AAA since his call up late last season..

I'm guessing they would call up Talbot if they absolutely needed a spot starter.

Might as well stick with the Niemann/Cormier tandem.
With an innings eater like Shields following Niemann, Cormier will get his necessary rest. It ain’t pretty but it will suffice until DP is ready.

I agree and knock on wood we can just keep what we have
but at some point we will have a pitcher go down (lets just hope not for long) we have been unusually lucky last year and into this year with our rotation.

This is the problem with looking at just stats for minor league pitchers...
I remember having this conversation a couple years ago about Jake McGee in A ball. If a player is sent to a certain league with the objective to work on pitches, no one should be surprised when they get shelled. Assuming that is what he is doing, and only pitch FX or someone charting the pitches could tell us, then it’s really a good thing.
