Bartlett, Burell and.......Pedro?
Jason Bartlett is expected back for next weeks road trip
Jason Bartlett will play for the Charlotte Stone Crabs this weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) against the Dunedin Blue Jays. He’s scheduled to DH tomorrow and play shortstop on Saturday and Sunday.
Several Rays are out doing early batting practice, and SS Jason Bartlett has been working out too. He appears headed for a three-game rehab assignment in Port Charlotte this weekend, with hopes of rejoining the team for next week's road trip.
Pat Burrell will continue his rehab and be back soon ( I guess he will play a lil RF, LF and get some days off.

“I think it was an issue. There’s no excuses. I’m on the field, I’m playing. This is a game where you got to produce. Yesterday doesn’t count. I believe that. There’s no excuses for not peforming. I took the field. Certainly I’m a lot more eager to get out there feeling good.”
And......Pedro?!
We are not familiar with the source, but one news outlet in the Dominican Republic is reporting that the Rays have met with Pedro Martinez and even attended a recent bullpen session.
Even the pitcher held a meeting yesterday [pitching] in the Quisqueya stadium. in the bleachers and was department staff the Rays of Tampa, said the source. In all, Pedro did a bullpen session of 20 pitches, all straight and as the newspaper heard from listeners Rays were satisfied with what they witnessed the veteran pitcher.

I could see Pedro being a useful bullpen arm, if he were to sign for league minimum.
Didn’t he look pretty good in the WBC?

Direct translation of a slang term, equivelent to what we would say here as 'flexing their muscle'

So basically, they watched a 20 fastball bullpen session, all the pitches were 'straight', which I'm taking to mean well located, and were happy with the results.
Another viewing session was scheduled where he’ll show off his curve. I’m assuming that as long as he doesn’t crap himself, pretty soon we’re gonna have Pedro and Big Zim on the same side in our next brawlfence episode.

Your mother told us she thinks curved wangs are hot.
I’m sorry, that wasn’t really relevant to this discussion.

ive got time on my hands so i translated it..
A new franchise, the Tampa Bay Rays have hinted that they have interest in enlisting the services of the veteran Pedro Martínez, as after being implied yesterday to the Listin Diario, the accredited source.
The pitcher completed a bullpen session in Quisequeya Stadium and in the stands officials of the Tampa Bay Rays were spotted according to the source.
In all, Pedro completed the bullpen session with 20 pitches, all fastballs and according to the newspaper the Rays appeared satisfied with what they saw form the veteran pitcher, who has not played since logging 3 scoreless innings against Holland in the World Baseball Classic.
The session was so encouraging according to the source, the pitcher (slang monticulista) would be open to pitching for this franchise in the coming days, once he was able to throw his curveball effectively once again.
If this happens, it will attract fans to the Rays and elevate interest in their existence in the solid AL East, so to do this he would return to pitch against his archrival Yankees and he would also find himself once again before the Red Sox, the franchise where spent 7 years, a year after Tampa Bay dominated these strong teams with a mark of 97-65.
HOLY SHIT THAT LAST ONE WAS ONE LONG SENTENCE…that is bad writing in Spanish too.

Caribbean Spanish is different
than South American, Spainard, Mexican, and Central American Spanish. The way it was explained to me is that Argentine and Catalan is the smoothest, Caribbean is more like a machine gun, and Mexican/CA is fused with a lot of Indian words and slang.
