Winston Abreu: Freed
Per Joe Smith of the Heater, Jason Isringhausen has been placed on the DL and Winston Abreu has been promoted to the majors. Hate to see it come this way, but the guy has earned his shot. To recap check out this and this.
Basically, Abreu throws hard, has seemingly decent-to-good breaking stuff in his slider, is striking out the International League like nobody's business, and has a long track record of success in Triple-A without much major league time to speak of. Absolute worst case: he turns in an awful performance and we DFA him in a month. Best case: he turns into a ~3-3.5 RA reliever in a pen that could use a high leverage reliever with that type of success.
Congrats Winston, you've earned it. Now please, please stick.

I figured you were on the site and just didn't read any of the previous posts.
anyways, Izzy clutched his arm during the 9th, don’t know what the specifics are, but doesn’t look good.

Izzy's arm exploded. Many dead. Very tragic.

Can
he teach balf his slider, it would help if balf would learn it and use it

Can't wait to see a fresh new arm in the BP
Even though they’ve been lights out lately, the bullpen has been overworked.
Let's go with "new", not fresh
Abreu has thrown 32 innings so far, which is more than everyone in the pen except Lance. But yeah, it will be nice to see a new face.
Maybe I’m just an old fashioned BJ suck-off-er. (Good call Sandy)

Why not try JP Howell as our closer? Sure,he doesn’t break 90,but he misses bats and gets hitters out.
….wait, what?
"Where we all wait in earnest with pudding in hand for the Upton comet to sail through the roofed skies, so that we may meet Him."
Not saying I think we need a closer, I personally like the non-closer approach. But JP is the best reliever in the bullpen and if you were going to have a closer, he'd probably be the best choice right now.
But since Percival’s been DL’d, I don’t know of a game this year where having a ‘closer’ would have helped.

Well, JP didn't pitch that day.
"Where we all wait in earnest with pudding in hand for the Upton comet to sail through the roofed skies, so that we may meet Him."
That had nothing to do with a closer.
If Brignac makes the play Choate closes the game.
Great news ...
… wanted him being called up instead of Thayer earlier already (while I like Thayer as well as the stache!)!
Hope he is doing great as well as Bradford later on! Would solidify our BP! Nelson also looks to be getting better! Just place Wheeler or Balfour on the DL somehow!
Howell, Cormier, Abreu, Nelson, Choate/Shouse, Bradford, Wheeler/Balfour
With a good BP we can get past the Yanks!
Duemig also has haters on MLB.com
However, nobody listens to him so:

Steve Duemig has really two things to talk about.
1. Gambling- Gamble all you want but who wants to hear about it on sports radio. Poker this, roulette that, horse racing this….gambling rights…new gaming laws. He never fails, it never ends.
2. Joe Maddon post game dissection- After every loss or every shakey win he will play back Maddons post game comments and critically dissect every single word he says. Whether you think Maddon is awesome or you think he stinks this is some of the worst sports radio out there. Post game comments are what the are… not much, not for any player or any coach or any fan. He seems to have some personal grudge against him, which is boring. He is an absolute zero when it comes to baseball… maybe pure genius when it come gambling.
Duh…
