Jason Isringhausen Placed on 60 Day DL; Winston Abreu Added To 40 Man
Not good news, but it appears that Jason Isringhausen may have indeed thrown his last major league pitch; at least for the season. While the Rays haven't disclosed the injury to Isrignhausen's right elbow, they felt the injury was signifcant enough to not only place him on the DL, but the 60 Day DL. The move cleared the necessary spot for Winston Abreu on the 40-man roster. Isringhausen is scheduled to go for an MRI tomorrow, but it doesn't sound like he will get much good news.
Good luck to Jason and welcome Winston. Finally the name "Abreu" will appear on the back of a Rays jersey.
