now that we are done with them
Let Zobrist and Gross guide them, they deserve better
Plus, they play the Yankees now
Rotation: 1. James Shields 2. Matt Garza 3. David Price 4. Jeff Niemann 5. Andy Sonnanstine...... Coming Soon: Wade Davis......Scott Kazmir?
I hate the video quality, but the point remains the same.

not much you can do about that
Willie Harris was charging into the bullpen with a quickness. that’s just a casualty of having such accessible bullpens
home field advantage?
I dunno I have never seen Longo or Pena do that

The play didn't really matter in the end.
Zobrist struck out on the next pitch.

Can you explain the video? Didn't see the game today. Who is crashing over who?

Damn it, Jim, I'm a lawyer, not a graphics designer!
I have the replay set to DVR at 2 AM. I’ll see what I can do in the morning.

It's very likely that the Yanks sweep the Nationals next week
which would drive their winning pct. down to .250
62 Mets may have company soon
Rotation: 1. James Shields 2. Matt Garza 3. David Price 4. Jeff Niemann 5. Andy Sonnanstine...... Coming Soon: Wade Davis......Scott Kazmir?
this team could very well take one from the Yanks. They can score some runs

Ugh, no game tomorrow.
I understand the need for days off, but they make my night so boring.
Perfect
Then they can both lose.
I could be wrong though

OT: Bryce Harper to attend Junior College this fall
Supposidly the 16 year old is going to junior college so he is eligible for the 2010 draft (getting his GED to get to college). Is this kid in over his head or what?
Rushing so much that you settle for a GED instead of a HS diploma is a bad sign
I’ve heard many players talk about how much of playing in the MLB is mental and hinges on having maturity. If you read the SI story, his quotes show him to have a questionable grasp on the reality of his situation. This could turn out very badly for him and for the team that signs him. Then again, there’s a huge upside as well.
Yeah I read that and wasn't sure
if they were taking him out of context to show him as immature or just play up his youth. It seemed to portray him as a 12 year old that just got to go see the dinosaur exhibit at a museum.

I read
that when an ump makes a close call at second base, he runs in from right field to argue the call. He said that he likes to play against older players because he “enjoys showing them up”. He said his goal is to be considered the best baseball player ever. He goes to church every day for Bible study, which already shows he’s probably screwed up in the head.
Yeah, that kid is going to sign for millions of dollars before he reaches twenty. Can’t foresee any maturity problems that could arise.
Lulz

Can’t wait for him to be a druggie

Haha yeah.
I heard him get called a wife beater a few times, then Aybar comes up and the same people started screaming for him. I’m like “Uh..but…what.”

Did you see that one laser liner that B.J. caught?
He realigned that way literally a second before that ball was hit.

I was in right field on Friday night's game
and heard some of the most vicious heckling I’d ever heard when Dukes came out to the field. It started out funny but then it got quite abusive. I thought poorly of all of those idiots for doing that, and embarassed for our fans
I need to attend a Rangers game when they come to town and see if Hamilton gets called names too.

Not saying Dukes is a role model or anything
I just think heckling people like that is childish and stupid. It’s also pretty pussy-like — do you think any of those guys would say that stuff to Dukes’ face? HELL NO. He’d pop a cap in ‘em. So it’s pretty lame to take advantage of being protected from someone to lob insults at them. It also takes focus away from the game. Makes MLB fans look like WWF fans.
.
Is it a surprise that so many members of society are petty and small-minded? It’s basic human nature sadly.
Maybe I’m just an old fashioned BJ suck-off-er. (Good call Sandy)

Lots of people have multiple kids with different mothers/fathers.
Especially young baseball players.

5 with 4?
This is why I respect Shawn Kemp. Dude had a goal of having a kid in every NBA city and he went out and tried to accomplish it. There is no shame in failure when you give something your best effort.

My point was the hypocrisy involved.
Aybar reportedly beat his wife too, yet one gets maligned for it and the other gets “WOOO BOOTS IWTH FURRR!”
by R.J. Anderson on Jun 14, 2009 8:24 PM EDT up reply actions
It is hypocritical
I’ll cheer Willy on when he hits a three-run bomb against Sabathia, sure. Doesn’t mean I approve of spousal abuse or like him as a person. But for the very same reason, people shouldn’t heckle athletes and justify it by pointing out their character flaws. Certain Rays players, like CC, Pena and Zorilla, everyone loves because not only are they great players, but they are great guys. But for most MLB players — can anyone, as a fan, really say that they know their character? No. You can cheer on the team and not necessarily idolize the players.
Yes.
I don’t care what players do as long as they don’t get jailed or killed.

Way OT, but not worth creating a fanpost, so i apologize
As much as we hate Coco Crisp, this is funny
OK i officially have a new (baseball) disease called PPA (Piss Poor Aim). Everytime i hit a ball hard PPA kicks in. There has to be a cure.
