2009 Rays Baseball: God Damn It, Guys

I'm very interested to see what Sonny's release point looked like in this outing
compared to the previous graph after his last start. Is he varying his delivery again?
My father was six foot four when he left for Japan. When he came back he was five foot even. The Japanese blew off his shins and the doctor told him he would never walk again. He never gave up. He walked right to that doctor, looked up, and punched him... in the kidneys.

Thank you
Do I also detect some “looseness” in this start compared to the last start?

Doesn't he always
Thats why he was hard to hit last year. Even with his love velocity he fooled hitters by changing arm angles.
Matt Joyce > Gabe (Insert last name here)

Rays win and watching Durham in Extra's on TV
FWIW Winston Abreu is nasty, just struck out the side on 11 pitches in the 11th.

tborays Maddon just finished lengthy closed-door mtg w/ trainer Ron Porterfield, says “I don’t feel really good” about Longo’s hamstring

He was resting him when he wasn't hurt. What the heck do you think was going to happen when he actually gets hurt?
My guess is Longo sits 2 weeks longer than what he needs

I wonder what would have happened if Longo didn't have to DH when he was okay to play the field
I hate playing monday morning QB, but i find it ironic KK was talking about how Longo was complaining how tough it was to DH just as Longo screwed a hammy.
Nobody
Aybar to 3B, Brignac to SS, Zobrist to 2B, whathisname who kept DHing last week to utility
Vogt early, Vogt often.
I was watching the interview, Maddon was smirking when he said that, like "of course not".
Give him the rest of the series off.
Please have good MRI results.
Good news?
tborays On Longoria, I don’t get the impression it’s too serious, but Rays will be cautious b/c hammies are tricky. Couple days off would make sense

How bout Zo hustling down the line to avoid the DP and extend the inning
followed by a Joyce 2 run shot to ice the game. The guy is just a solid ballplayer
Yes
He has one of the strangest major league career arcs I’ve ever seen. All in limited ABs:
Age 25 OPS .572
Age 26 OPS .391
Age 27 OPS .844
Age 28 OPS 1.044
But might as well keep riding his bat while it’s hot, and I don’t think it’s too soon to say his bat is better than we thought it would be.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
Per Lancaster
Longoria said after the game he wasn’t worried about it and doesn’t consider it anything serious.
“I didn’t feel a pop, I didn’t feel a pull, and I was able to walk,” he said. “Hopefully it’s just a day-to-day thing.”
The Rays, however, seemed ready to pull back the reins a bit.
Manager Joe Maddon had a lengthy closed-door meeting with head trainer Ron Porterfield following the game and later said Longoria will undergo an MRI exam today. Hamstring injuries have a tendency to get worse in a hurry when a player tries to play through them, so perhaps it wasn’t surprising that Maddon seemed more circumspect about what was happening than Longoria.
