Evan Longoria Exits Game; Hamstring Injury?
Evan Longoria exited tonight's game after seven innings. Willy Aybar took his place at third base to start the top of the eight inning. Longoria busted out of the box on a sixth inning double, but eased up as he headed in to second base. He continued to stay in for the rest of the sixth inning as well as the seventh. Many people have commented that Longoria hasn't looked 100% since he's returned from his earlier hamstring injury that forced him to miss nearly a week of action.
Official word is a sore left hammy.

Hopefully he gets healthy
He’s gotta start his first All-Star game in a few weeks. But this is probably explains why he’s not played well in June, but a testament of his talent level because he’s still playing fairly well

I'd be perfectly content with Maddon giving Longo a week of rest
If his bat is suffering from this then there’s no real point of having him play every day if he’s not 100%

Is has....
Maybe not today or yesterday, but ever since he came back to play in that Yankees series, he hasn’t been hitting as well. His BA even dipped below .300 for a time

Jose Mesa was a pretty good pitcher, save one outing (pun intended)

Regarding Evan.
Perhaps we should put Burrell at third, like his college days.

what is a better combo, statistically speaking?
Aybar and 3rd and Benzo at 2nd
or
Benzo at 3rd and Aybar at 2nd?

Aybar's lack of speed make 3B a better option,
and I agree he is not bad over there. If he were a switch-hitting IF who rivaled Longo defensively I believe he would be playing fulltime for another team.
