Maddon confirmed that SS Jason Bartlett (sprained left ankle) will not be ready to return when eligible to come off the DL on Wednesday, and it sounded like Bartlett could need another week off, plus a few days for a minor-league rehab. "I have not heard anything even in regard to getting him out playing (in the minors),‘’ Maddon said. "He’s still pretty much going through the normal “get-well” stuff.’’
Potential good news is about a guy that hopefully starts breaking out
DH Pat Burrell “more than likely” will play a third rehab game for Class A Charlotte on Thursday following a two-game stint tonight and Tuesday with Double-A Montgomery, with an eye on having him back in the lineup for Friday’s game against Washington.

I think Eckstein would make a great bench player, and could bring some much needed attitude adjustment to the team. He’s worked for everything he has got. Maybe that could rub off on some of the kids.

Getting to the playoffs six times with 90+ win teams > getting to the playoff one time with a 95+ win team.
The playoffs are a huge crapshoot, you better your odds of winning a title by making them for 5-6 years in a row, not one here and there.
