I've been working on this this morning and thought I'd share it with you guys.  Hard to read a whole lot into it since it includes his, so far, un-BJ-like numbers.  Obviously, the 5-9 numbers are an even smaller sample size.  I've been a pretty big proponent of Bartlett to leadoff, at the very least against lefties, and think that it wouldn't hurt to have Beej hitting 3rd with the protection of Longo behind him.

Last night was the first night in 2 weeks that I thought he didn't look real great at the plate

He’s putting himself back together slowly. I don’t see a reason to move him.

So long, Sweet Lime!

We went over this at RaysBB

Too many confounding variables in there. A great majority of his leadoff ABs have come this year. Is the problem something this year or is the problem leading off? It’s impossible to tell without a base year to compare to.

So hitter protection exists?
and think that it wouldn’t hurt to have Beej hitting 3rd with the protection of Longo behind him.

Bastard

I caught that after I posted and was to Upton-y to edit it. I meant that if there is a brawl Evan could wrap his arms around BJ and protect him better when Beej is at the plate and Longo is on deck. If Beej is on second he’s really in no man’s land and Longo would be too far to save him.

Rays Win!
