Scott was my Little League coach about 12 years ago
This actually isn’t just a random selection as he regularly throws BP for the Rays. He usually throws to the same group, but I’m not sure if Carlos is part of that group. I know it includes BJ, Carl, and Longo.

Yeah I would think it does also
Scott said they do BP based on the order of the lineup with 4 groups total (IIRC) including the subs for that day

A fellow bayshore little leaguer?
Scott wasn’t my coach, I had the worst coach in league history while Scott coached the Red Sox, of all teams, but it’s still cool to see him doing this.

Yep, Scott coached me on the Red Sox
I had Scott in hist last year there and my first year in majors when I was 10. It was nice having him and Steve as coaches even though they didn’t have kids on the team. I actually saw him 2 weeks ago at the game was able to talk to him about all the BP stuff. I was hoping he would get to throw to Los if he participated in the HRD. I also had a couple terrible Little League coaches. One of them got ejected so many times in one season that he wasn’t allowed to coach any more.

That million-dollar-smile of his is going to blind him, and he's going to get hit in the head. We're going to lose him for the season, and the HRD conspiracy theorists will come back out of the woodwork.
I can't wait until we trade him for a reliever.
