1st Half Record Progression

Nothing too heavy here. The past month to six-weeks has been incredibly similar in regards to progression between the Sox, the Yankees, and the Rays. As you can see, the last road trip to Toronto and Texas really hurt.

So what is the difference right now?

- The Red Sox do not lose more than a few games at a time.  In fact, their longest "losing streak" is three games and they've only done it three times.

- The Yankees have had a seven and nine game winning streak this season. The Ray's longest pair are seven and six games long (the Sox's longest streaks are eleven and five).

- The Rays just can't catch a break. From game 55 forward, look at how similar the progression is among the three teams. When the Rays win, the Sox and Yankees win. When the Rays lose, the Sox and Yankees lose win.

Keep in mind winning streaks are over-rated. It would be very nice to see things start to even out and the Rays start to get some good luck when it comes to winning at the right time. In other words, the Rays need to stop being so unbelieveably unlucky.

And two of the three 3 game losing streaks

Rays also need to

win games that they’re supposed to win like this last week again Oakland. If they can’t put up wins against one of the worst teams in the AL they’re not ever going to catch the yanks or sox

This is it

If we do not make the playoffs it is because we failed against the worst teams in the AL.

The A’s, O’s, and Indians should not have had this type of success vs us. We should have maybe 6 more wins against these teams. That would put us right near the top.

Similar stuff from FG

We’re the third most unlucky team in baseball. Red Sox were among the luckiest. Who else was unlucky? It should be obvious. The team whose offense regressed all over our faces this weekend.

So long, Sweet Lime!
