Longoria Out of All-Star Game

ST. LOUIS -- Tampa Bay third baseman Evan Longoria is out of the American League starting lineup for the All-Star game because of an infected right ring finger.
He is being replaced by Texas third baseman Michael Young.
Chone Figgins of the Anaheim Angels is taking Longoria's place on the AL roster.
Oh well. There's always the next 10 years or so...

Should be ready for Friday's game.
Then again, we’re talking about the Rays here. They have said numerous times that a player won’t miss much time, but when it’s all said and done, the player actually misses quite a bit of time. We shall see.

I think Joe Maddon does not think much of Ian Kinsler.

Kinsler.....
I’m a big Kinsler fan and I think Texas demolishing us in Arlington wasn’t good for him. First Pedroia goes down (Joe adds Pena, another 1B) then Evan goes down and still no Kinsler to help out former buddy Scioscia and adds Figgins.

I doubt he actually has something against Kinsler, it's probably more of a buddy-buddy with Figgans deal.
Either way, I think it’s a dumb call.
