Longo just impregnated six women with that HR.
I’d be curious to see his wPREGO/HR%
Sign lady must die.
Not a pretty game
between Shields’ bad night and Royals defense, but all ended well. Great to see Burrell and Longo crush the ball.
Who thought that was Carlos Pena?

Always like comeback win, the bat is still hot there.
Longo start just like first half, CC still add his value.
it’s big win, if we can beat Greinke 2moro that will be huge for us.
also keep eye on Kaz see how’s “key” going on 2nd half.
Balfour too…. sure thing?

What a disappointment...
His hype was similar to Wieters this year. The next George Brett.
He was supposed to personify Royals baseball for years
Wait a minute…..

thank you Longo for bailing out Shields
There’s just no excuse for coming out so flat after the break by the supposed ace of the staff. And then to hear the paper excusing it as he didn’t get his regular work in over the break cuz he went to the Keys for a couple of days? Um…when you are in a pennant race, and you know you need to get your regular work in to keep you game-ready, then you don’t take a damn vacation that causes you not to get your regular work in. You take your vacations in the offseason when it doesn’t affect anyone. Very disappointing from Shields.

He had a bad game...
He was hit hard in one inning and pitched decently the others. It’s not an excuse, but it happens. He’s hittable at times and the Royals jumped on him.
It's still Kansas City
the same team Niemann two hit earlier this year. The same team that is worst in the AL in runs score and second worst in the majors. Can’t have many of these types of performances in the second half of the season if the Rays are going to pass New York or Boston.

that's not the issue
his season has nothing to do with last night. last night’s start was disappointing. But it’s Kansas City! It’s not like it was Boston or New York…it was Kansas City…this is the problem that has been so frustrating with this team this year. You cannot have a losing record to Oakland, Cleveland, Kansas City, etc, the bottom feeders and expect to contend for a playoff spot. So just after all the talk that they are ready to move past that, Shields throws out this clunker. It is what it is…disappointing.

I'm not sure if you remember last night.
But we won. So what’s the deal?
If anything I think this was good for our team. Watching their starting pitcher get shelled only to battle back.
again that's not the point
Yes we won. Yes this can be great for the team, being able to rally back, especially late in games. But that doesn’t make Shield’s poor performance disappear. Coming out of the break, going up against the second worst offense in all of baseball, and he throws like he did. That’s not what you are looking for out of your ace pitcher. Yes, it is only one game. But this is a very disappointing game…luckily we did win.

Kansas City is a major league baseball team
And this is often ignored. Bad teams are still major league teams.
It’s not an ideal start, but accusing him of not preparing or trying is a little harsh. A player can play poorly just because it wasn’t their day. It’s not always carelessness.
If Longoria went 0-5 yesterday all we would have heard about was how the ESPY appearance and late flight caused him to be terrible. It’s possible for a player to live a normal life and still play baseball.
