Also, has anyone seen Hellickson's autograph before? I'm not sure if it's because he's lazy, or high as a kite 98% of the time.

I gotta stay high-igh-igh-igh-igh
I still have mine. But I didn't want to say anything in hopes I wouldn't get harassed by raysNroyals for it. :D
Is there a foreign smudge on the ball? Or is the ink smudged?
I have a signed Wade Davis ball on an old inaugural Devil Rays ball, but the ink is faded beyond belief. :(
probably not all that relevant
but who is he replacing?
And who is replacing him in aa?
Durham was at 24 players
That’s not counting Talbot(DL), Sonnanstine(DL), and McGee(I’m 99% sure he’s with Charlotte). So Hellickson would be #25.

Oh, and he's probably kicking DeSalvo out of the rotation.
I would imagine.

ya i was never sure about when to be there
for the GCL starts so I didn’t go, I still wish the team was in Vero though cause that’s near where I live now (melbourne), I got into it with Doug Waechter in ‘07 when he was down there, i’m glad that no talent hack isn’t with the team any more.

dollar beer night
I was basically drunkingly telling him he didn’t belong in the majors in the worst bullpen/rotation in the majors for that matter, nonetheless the Rays A team. For some reason he took offense to it, said I should try to pitch in the AL East, I said if I made 400k a year I’d at least make St. Pete proud of a homegrown talent, and that he should try the Mark Warner route of bagging groceries and stick with it.

he
just kept on with the Joe Morgan you’ve never played the game etc.. and I kept on with his stats, he got pissed I got more drunk and not much from there on out, he knows he sucks. Started cause I asked one of the players on the VB Drays if Doug was still on the team on rehab (i didn’t know he was two seats down from the guy I was talking to) and I said he should be in rookie ball that’s when he turned around to me.

Yes, how dare he get pissed that a drunk guy is yelling at him that he sucks.

thats why I was being sarcastic
of course he should be upset, I wasn’t saying he was a d-bag or anything for his response, I know I was the annoying guy in that equation.

Also got into with Cubs prospect Tony Thomas Jr from FSU
another Dollar beer night, that quickly dissolved into a pissing contest, where I ended up saying good luck with cracking the cubs 2b rotation of Derosa/Fontenot with your subpar ability to hit for average, power, fielding etc, I ended up calling him Eric Patterson extra light…that one I was a little off on, but dollar beers can cloud your judgment

ya for whenever you turn 21
and stop heiling hitler/playing pokemon, those are by far the best nights to go to games. Players are usually tired of playing whoever the hell it is for the fourth time in a row and will talk to the fans about w/e you wanna talk about.

Not much surprise here.
The Rays are very regular with their prospects. This is the exact same thing they did with Davis and Price.

Could you say this about Hellickson?

Well the OF is still full
But not the rotation, DiSalvo was starting. He’s terrible. 0.83 K/BB ratio. FIP of 5.34 ERA 6.61

Nope
Like FreeZo said, DeSalvo is awful.
I doubt DJ is in the team’s plans until at least midway through next year, so they can just let him stay at AA where he can start at CF everyday. It’s not like the difference in pitchers is that great. There are better prospects in AA but more polished players in AAA.
Is the outfield full?
Ruggiano LF, Jennings CF, Joyce RF. So that boots out Ray Sadler or Jon Weber or whoever. No big deal.

Its not a need, rotation was a need.
Weber and Sadler are solid AAA players. DiSalvo is not.

but if Jennings is ready for AAA, then those guy shouldn't stand in his way
Outside of Joyce, Jennings will be the next Rays OF to play a significant role on the big league team. That being said, Jennings development could use AAA seasoning. No need for the others to delay his growth. If he’s ready for AAA then there’s no reason to move him up. Maybe Ruggiano gets moved at the trade deadline as part of a deal, thus making it easier to call up Jennings. Either way, there’s no reason Jennings shouldn’t be in AAA by August.

Meh
I don’t think an extra month in AAA is going to effect his ability to contribute in a year to the big club (if he even is then). He slumped through June, so there is no need to push him to AAA. Let him stay comfortable and not press (and get himself hurt) trying to get to the bigs. Having a set timetable alows him to do that.
Morse was brought back up, Rayner Oliveros will make Hellboys start in AA
