It would take "the moon and stars aligning" but according to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Rays are looking at a certain Roy Halladay. "Financial obligations" would be the primary reason why a deal doesn't get done (or if Toronto doesn't want to trade within the division) but with Niemann emerging as a AL ROY and Brignac looking as one of the best if not the best major league ready shortstop available, the Rays could have the pieces to make a deal. Last year Niemann and Brignac almost netted Jason Bay...this year Roy Halladay? I doubt it happens, but maybe the Rays see Halladay doing the same thing for the Rays that Sabathia did for the Brewers last year. Either way, I could see Halladay saying 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.'
