So much for quiet on the trade rumors front:

Ken Rosenthal

  • The Rays are engaged in a whirlwind of activity, investigating Lee, Halladay and numerous other options — "major, major stuff," according to one source.

Payroll flexibility remains a significant obstacle, and the Rays might need to move left-hander Scott Kazmir or another high-priced player to clear room for a major acquisition.

  • There are no indications, however, that the Rays are discussing trades involving Kazmir, who is earning $6 million this season, $8 million in 2010 and $12 million in '11 with a $13.5 million or $2.5 million buyout for '12.

More on the Rays and the interest in Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee tomorrow a.m.

I'm really starting to get on board the Cliff Lee train

only if we can move Kazmir though. I think that the Brewers and the Giants would be the best possible fits. I don’t know if we will be able to get a 3 way trade done or 2 seperate deals but if we can come out of this with Cliff Lee without having to give up both Davis and Brignac I think it will be nice.

    Why would the Giants

want Kazmir- they have little to trade for us? Brewers- a little bit worse

Come ON Pat the Bust, Navi can not have more homers than you

Trade Kazmir to Texas for a catcher +

And let Nolan Ryan ruin his arm.

He'd never have to worry about pitch counts again.

The crowds would still be a problem though.

I miss talking about circumstances ambushing Carl Crawford.

I can't wait until we trade him for a reliever.

    Not A catcher

    Taylor Teagarden

I can't help that I make some things look easier than they really are.

    Lee would be nice

davis + talbot for lee would be good by me. or davis + jennings + talbot + navi for lee and martinez

    I'm in!

Jennings or Perez. Jennings is soon to get a chance to be called up. For V-Mart and Cliff Lee. I’m down!

I am a Tampa Bay Rays fan living in Los Angeles. Dodger fans, you know you're not going anywhere right?

    lol

Jennings and Perez are no where near equal. that’s like “should we trade BJ or Gross?”

    Yeah I know but

I was just wondering what a realistic package would be for Halladay or Lee.

I don't think we make a move for Lee or Halladay unless we trade either C.C. or Kaz

we need the money flexibility. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this happen, but it most likely won’t.

    Trading CC

and then trading for Lee or Halladay would sort of defeat the purpose of trading CC.

    At this point

    I’d go for:

Rays get: Cliff Lee and Vmart
Indians get: Scott Kazmir Desmond Jennings and Navi and someone else

As much as I really want to see Jennings do his thing with the Rays

It might be selling high on him. Although, we lose him and OF depth becomes a bit of an issue going forward.

    I could be wrong though

What about Kaz to teh Brewers?

We get Gamel and one of their catcher prospects. Would they be interested?
