Great win, beating Roy Halladay (well more like Downs)

great team victory hopefully this can get us going, we take 2 of 3 and head home and good things can happen with the help of one Mr. Friedman.

Thank God

It probably hadn’t been as long as I think, but it felt like it had been weeks since the Rays got a really clutch hit like Longoria’s double.

Right

But I’m talking about proving our talent to other talented teams. We can beat up on the Royals and the Nationals until the cows come home, but losing two series in a row to decent/good teams like the White Sox and the Blue Jays paints us as “not really contenders”.

But a lot of that was bases-loaded walks.

When was the last time the Rays got a clutch hit? They’ve really struggled in big spots lately. The only two I can remember this month besides this one were Longoria’s HR in Kansas City and Burrell’s walk-off against the Jays.

We needed this win badly.

No doubt about it. Sox and Yanks both won as well. A loss here makes it a .500 road trip and we come out looking not so rosy.

We’re still in this thing.

That was tough to see

Papelbon is not as good as Howell, at least this year. Try telling that to Mike “the Rays won’t compete until they get a closer” Lupica, though.

Hellickson

6 innings, 5 hits, 2 runs, 3 BB, 6 K, 101 pitches.

very bendy and fastball was 92-93 and down in the zone most of the game.

Kirkjian just said Cubs looking for a loogy

calling Shouse or Choate, don’t care which but we don’t need both. I don’t care what you get back but get something for one of them.

What a pitching dual tonight.

Garza was flat out amazing. We’ve seen what he can do when all his pitches are working for him, but tonight was different, after the Blue Jays got back into the game in the third, he started to refocus and by the 5th he was mowing them down. His curve ball is my favorite pitch in baseball.

9K 0BB, yes please.

The whole Rangers team is jacked up with the flu.

It’s a miracle they were able to sweep the Red Sox. I think they had five regulars either out of the lineup or weakened by the flu on Wednesday and they had to throw a guy out there to pitch on basically one day’s rest.

Toolsy OF we got in the 19th round

Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.

Rogers was our 7th rounder from a JC

I don’t have scouting on him but he’s a top-10 round pick posting good numbers, so that’s nice.
