ANAHEIM – If the Angels are interested in trading for Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Scott Kazmir — as Friday's rumors indicated — it's news to them.
Kazmir's name has not surfaced in their meetings.
---
He would not seem to fit the Angels' needs, but the Rays do have other pitchers, such as relievers Grant Balfour, J.P. Howell and Randy Choate who could spur talks between the teams.
I'm sure the Rays are more than willing to trade J.P. Howell. I mean, it's not like he's cheap, fantastic, and under team control for another three seasons.

I forget who the team was (the Brewers I think) were desperately looking for a loogy
I don’t think it matters much what we get back but if we can send the Choate or Shouse (preferably Choate) that would be great.
Yea cheap, awesome relievers like Howell and Balfour are just the types we should be trading.
This is why newspapers fail.

Why would the Angels want Howell?
He’s not even a closer. Hey guys, that being said, K-Rod for J.P? :)
