We are hearing dialogue about the Mets/Rays/ and Indians talking about a three way deal. In this scenario Victor Martinez would go to Tampa and not New York. As of now we do not know who the Mets would receive in this scenario.
Only two names make sense here:
1. Scott Kazmir
2. Carlos Pena
Official deadline thread opens at midnight. This could get fun ladies and gents.

If we have to give up Pena so be it
As much as we’ll miss Pena’s home runs and tobacco-free commercials, we won’t miss his strikeouts. There’s enough talent on our roster to produce offense without him and replacing Navi is too much of a needed upgrade.
I'm sure they could plaster the Mets logo on his cap

It was Jason Tyner
but his giveaway was actually cancelled because they sent him down to AAA about a week beforehand. They never rescheduled it and I believe they eventually gave them to a charity. Funny story that reminds us of how far we’ve come as an organization.

Given how bad Navi has been vs RHP, it makes sense to catch VMart on those days. Really its a question of VMart vs Pena. VMart 3 yrs .828 vs LHP, Pena about .760

I'm not sure this trade is gonna happen
First off, what would the Mets chip in, they have no prospects, as half of the, are bad or playing right now. And the Indians don’t want payroll, and I can’t see the Mets wanting payroll either, although they do need help at both SP & 1B. Also, if Kaz/Pena goes, where does that leave the team in the pennant race? is 2009 over or is it all for 2010 and Martinez is an injury risk too so can he play everyday at C/1B?

Why can’t we trade Burrell? Hell I would give him away if we could to just rid ourselves of him. Hes a true team cancer and has single handily ruined our playoff chances. Hes just so bad and all he does is strikeout. Has NO Quality at bats. Jesus Christ Aybar is a hell of a lot better suited for DH.
I would assume that Kazmir is the guy the Mets want instead of Pena
but if Pena does get moved and I was Andrew Friedman I would give SD a call and see exactly what the price is for Adrian Gonzalez before making a deal of Martinez.

I hope it’s CP23 that goes if this Mets/Indians/rays deal happens…Aybar at least hits for average when he plays, and does have the power to hit 20 homers if he plays everyday.
Kaz for the most part has looked much better since coming back from the DL.
Mets may want Pena, due to Delagado’s age and injuries…not to mention Pena makes much less money, and is an upgrade with the glove.
If this deal happens, I’d say we send Pena to the Mets and Sonny and a prospect to the Indians.
