Hickey may or may not be the issue

The question becomes risk vs reward. It is pretty clear pitchers get worse under Hickey. That may be due to another reason or just crappy luck. However what is the harm in trying a new pitching coach? What is the worst that can happen? If Hickey is truly the cause then we have everything to gain. If pitching coaches have no impact then all we get is the status quo. It is literally all reward and no risk.

well, Mexican league folks think they have a guy or two who should be in the majors:

Dude … here’s an update on my Mexican league young guy someone should bring to the show.

Eduardo Arredondo … 80 games – 340 AB’s … he has only whiffed 19 times … that’s 7 times fewer than Albert Puljols has whiffed this year … (Now he is no Albert, but 19 K’s in 240 AB’s is Puljols like)

He leads the league in hits with 124. He leads the league in runs scored with 72 and he has 54 RBI as a lead off hitter. His OBP is .410 … he is slugging at over .500 and he has an OPS of .924. I doubt there is any lead off hitter in AA and above who has a .924 OPS over 80 games. And he is hitting .404 with RISP.

I’d say those stats are pretty good in any league … and for a 24 year old against all the old salts down there, it’s way more than good.

My other DH recommend guy, Carlos Rivera is hitting .367 with a .448 OBP, slugging .627 with a 1.075 OPS …He has only whiffed 37 times in 308 ABs but has walked 43 times … and he has 43 XBH out of 113 hits of which 18 are jacks.

Our starters other than Shields have been way below average.

Sure every once in awhile its the offense that goes dormant, mainly in Shields starts. However usually our starting pitching absolutely kills us. Far too often our SP have basically made games unwinnable.

Kazmir has been very good since he came back, 12K’s 2BB’s, fixed his command, Sonny doesnt even pitch for us at the moment. Price is lacking confidence which surprises me.

Yeah. I’ve run vista on my 300 dollar laptop for 2 years and can’t stand using XP now. 7 will be good, but it’s really not that big of an improvement.

I do like the GUI improvements

and boot time. Libraries are meh, but my biggest peeve with vista that they fixed in 7 is connecting to wireless. SO much easier.
