I see very little reason for why he shouldn't be up in the majors right now
he should bring more value to 2B than Aybar and is a better back-up option defensively than Zo at SS. He should probably be playing everyday at 2B v LHP

I actually had a typo I meant everyday against RHP
but I would have it
2B Brignac
RF Zo
DH Gross
with Burrell on the bench.

I would very much like Gross at DH
He will be my favorite Ray until the day he leaves. He doesn’t hit for power much, but he sure does seem to up his game in high leverage, run-scoring situations. Probably one of our best clutch hitters.

yea that is one of the main reasons I would do it
I would think the line-up I suggested would be more valuable than what we use now with PTB at DH, Gross in RF, and Zo at 2B.

small sample size I know but in his short stint while JB was hurt against RHP Briggy's line was
.357/.386/.524. 42 PA.

in Durham his RHP splits are
.284/.336/.458
just a side interesting note he has the exact same LD% against RHP and LHP 26.6%

Briggy's a nice player
but being dubbbed the best D SS in the IL isn’t really saying much.
How many SS prospects can you name in the IL? Him and maybe Jason Donald, who’s not know for his D (and isn’t hitting). The rest are extended bench guys, utility types, those rapidly profiling as UT’s, etc. There’s only 7 guys listed as SS in the IL league batting stats as having enough AB’s (Used as measure of PT). Of 14 teams. The others:
B. Dlugach TOL
B.Bixler IND
J. Cabrera NOR
J. Castillo BUF
T. Plouffe ROC
E. Torres CHAR
Many teams have a rotating cast of characters, or guys playing multiple spots to maximize their bench utility.
I do agree he’s probably a better roster guy than a 2nd LOOGY. But he’ll be upin September if not sooner; late August if playofff hopes remain, and they should. Can’t see them leaving him in Durham for the IL playoffs. Can you?

For whatever reason the PCL has a ton of qualified SS's.
He’s either the best or second best defensive SS in AAA. I wish the Angels would either play Wood or trade him.

I read the above to mean they were the best in each league
Don’t know that says Briggy is top 2, but given the lack of D stats for the minors maybe you’re working off something you’re not citing. Didn’t read the BA item (don’t subscribe) so maybe there’s info there I didn’t see too.
Wood could get his chance next season – Figgy is a FA – but clearly the Angels don’t think he’s better than what’s there at present, and he’s given them no reason to dispute that in his majors time. They’re not shy about promoting guys, but they have to earn their keep.

I know a couple of the ESPN guys (maybe KLaw and Olney) have said that he is the best defensively in AAA
BA may have that too, not sure I’m not a subscriber.

The article only has the best for each league...
Doesn’t say which is the best in AAA or minors. I would assume they might do that later.

I was going by your list which showed the exact same 7 guys that I saw on the IL list on Fangraphs
The PCL list featured many more names, most of which don’t have the same pedigree.

Having wathced Reid the last two years in Durham
there still seems to be something missing…..mainly maturity (much imporved from last season…he’s not yelling fuck as loud as he can when he strikes out anymore) and plate discipline at times would be my non expert opinion. What I do know is the guy is a “baseball player”, you can tell he lives for it and he has extreme confidence in himself.

Brignac has never lacked confidence.
His myspace tag line when he was 19 was, “G.O.A.T. Bitch”
