Trevor Hoffman placed on waivers.
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports the Brewers have placed all-time saves leader Trevor Hoffman, among others, on waivers.
Outfielder Mike Cameron, infielder Craig Counsell, catcher Jason Kendall, right-hander Braden Looper and second baseman Felipe Lopez have also been made available. As Rosenthal notes, interested clubs have until Thursday at 1 p.m. EST to make a claim. Hoffman, who has 27 saves and a 1.89 ERA, is likely to draw the most interest. Every playoff-bound team is looking to add another reliable bullpen arm.

I don't know if we have a shot at getting him...
But adding Hoffman, arguably one of the most reliable relievers of all time, to a bullpen that has been anything but reliable of late would be a big acquisition for the Rays for this stretch run.
If we can add Hoffman, that will allow JP to roam again.
How much salary would we have to eat?

I believe he'd have to clear the NL teams first before coming here
and no way in hell the Phillies pass on him
